Jin Huang is an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, where he joined the faculty in July 2026. Prior to Notre Dame, he was an International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University (2022–2026). He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2021 and his B.E. in Materials Science and Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 2016.

His research focuses on accelerated materials discovery, electrocatalysis, and electrochemical synthesis through the integration of high-throughput experimentation, nanofabrication, automation, and artificial intelligence. His work has been published in leading journals, including Nature Catalysis, Science Advances, Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Nano Letters, and has been featured by major science and technology news outlets such as ScienceDaily, Science News Today, Green Car Congress, and ELE Times. His research has been recognized with honors including the CAS Future Leaders Top 100, the International Institute for Nanotechnology Outstanding Researcher Award, and the ACS ENFL Future Investigator Award.
